An exceptional Swiss 6 bell and drum musical box made by George Bendon in 1880.

 

A superbly crafted case houses the drum and bell musical movement. The musical movement consists of 6 engraved tuned bells and brass drum which can be engaged or dis-engaged at will, allowing the listener to select the accompaniment for each individual tune. The decorative bells are struck by finely crafted bird strikers. The excellent tune programme includes popular pieces of the day, among others, that bring out the very best of each of the instruments present here. Overall, a very fine piece of Victorian precision engineering combined with outstanding musical excellence.

 

Movement and case have been lovingly restored to the very highest of standards.
